Mobile Integrated Network of Trust
Trusted Data Chain for Public Transportation
Bus2, UnB and Staex are building the future of urban mobility with verifiable, real-time data for municipalities, operators, insurers, and citizens.

Modern cities rely on public transportation as critical infrastructure. But today, the data that powers these systems is often fragmented, inaccurate, or unverifiable. This creates major challenges:
Municipalities lack accurate insights into passenger flows, payment systems, and CO₂ emissions — making it hard to optimize routes, or advance sustainability goals.
Operators struggle with unreliable information from electronic ticketing alone, leaving gaps in occupancy tracking and fleet performance.
Authorities and insurers need precise, time-stamped, and tamper-proof data to respond effectively to incidents.
Citizens depend on safe, efficient, and sustainable mobility — but trust erodes when systems can't deliver transparency.
In a complex, multi-stakeholder network, everyone depends on the same data — but without a trusted chain of information, decisions are delayed, inefficiencies grow, and opportunities for smarter urban mobility are lost.
A Trusted Data Chain for Public Transportation
To overcome these challenges, Bus2, the University of Brasília (UnB), and Staex have joined forces to create a Trusted Data Chain — a system that delivers verifiable, real-time, and tamper-proof information for all stakeholders in urban mobility.
Accurate Passenger Counting
IoT sensors connected to microcontrollers like Raspberry Pi provide real-time occupancy data, ensuring municipalities can track Tarifa Zero programs and operators know exactly how full each vehicle is.
Carbon Emission Tracking
Sensors measure CO₂ emissions directly from buses, giving cities reliable data to support sustainability and ESG initiatives — and even explore future carbon credit programs.
Secure Networking
With Staex technology, even small devices can create a secure connection from the edge to the cloud, transmitting data safely without relying on centralized infrastructure.
Immutable Storage
All data is anchored using cryptographic verification, making it transparent, auditable, and impossible to tamper with. This ensures every stakeholder — from municipalities and operators to insurers and authorities — can trust the information they receive.
Three partners. One mission.
A major data integrator in Latin America, Bus2 unifies, processes, and integrates mobility data from fleet management, electronic ticketing, telemetry, sensors, and more — turning fragmented inputs into actionable intelligence.

Through its research and Internet of Things Laboratory (BIoT), UnB combines research and applied innovation to design and deploy next-generation urban mobility solutions, from prototypes to real-world pilots.
Staex provides the verified-trust network layer — encrypted peer-to-peer tunnels, certificate-based security, and cryptographic data anchoring that turns raw device telemetry into trusted, auditable information.
LIVE Showcase in Brasília
The IoT Lab at the University of Brasília, led by Professor Cláudia Abbos, has already built and tested a working prototype of this solution in a controlled environment. Using sensors connected to microcontrollers, the lab has successfully tracked passenger numbers and CO₂ emissions with high accuracy.
The next step: Deploy the system on real buses in Brasília. Capture live data on passengers, emissions, and fleet performance. Store this data securely using Staex networking and verified data infrastructure.
In October 2025, Staex, Bus2, and UnB will host a live demonstration at the University of Brasília. Partners, municipalities, and industry leaders are invited to see the solution in action and contribute to shaping its next phase.
Let's Build Smarter Cities Together
A Trusted Data Chain is key to building safer, more sustainable, and more efficient cities. Together, Staex, Bus2, and UnB are creating the infrastructure for that future.
