Berlin, 04.03.2025 – Staex GmbH, a Berlin-based provider of secure network protocols for decentralized physical infrastructure networks (DePIN), has received an investment from MN Capital, a venture capital firm specializing in Web3 startups. The investment will support Staex in further developing its network solutions for the mobility and energy sectors.
MN Capital, part of The EMN Group, has invested in Web3 startups since 2021. Founded by crypto analyst Michaël van de Poppe, the firm focuses on advancing cryptocurrency and decentralized technologies.
“This investment in Staex aligns with our goal of supporting projects that contribute to decentralization,” said Michaël van de Poppe, founder of MN Capital. “Staex’s approach to networking for DePIN is an important step toward more secure and scalable decentralized infrastructure.”
Staex develops network solutions that enable secure and efficient data exchange. Its technology is applied in industries where reliability and security are essential.
“We welcome MN Capital as an investor and partner,” said Dr. Alexandra Mikityuk, CEO and Co-Founder of Staex. “Their knowledge of Web3 and decentralized systems will support our efforts to expand and refine our network solutions. It is clear that it is absolutely needed in the industry. With the help of MN Capital, we are building the first DePIN public transport network that will be launched soon. Stay tuned.”
Staex plans to use the investment to advance product development, extend its network capabilities, and strengthen its role in decentralized infrastructure. As DePIN adoption increases, Staex aims to provide the necessary networking technology for secure data exchange across connected systems.

Staex is a secure public network for IoT devices that can not run a VPN such as smart meters, IP cameras, and EV chargers. Staex encrypts legacy protocols, reduces mobile data usage, and simplifies building networks with complex topologies through its unique multi-hop architecture. Staex is fully zero-trust meaning that no traffic is allowed unless specified by the device owner which makes it more secure than even some private networks. With this, Staex creates an additional separation layer to provide more security for IoT devices on the Internet, also protecting other Internet services from DDoS attacks that are usually executed on millions of IoT machines.
