Generative Ventures Invests in Staex to build a Scalable and Resilient Internet for DePIN.
[Berlin, 24.01.2025] — Generative Ventures, the early-stage venture firm specializing in the machine economy, today announced its investment in Staex, marking a significant milestone in our mission to create a more scalable, secure, and resilient Internet infrastructure tailored for Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Networks (DePIN).
DePIN is revolutionizing the way devices and services interact, generating massive amounts of data and transactions. For example, a fleet of just 10 buses can produce over 7,200 transactions daily for a single data type, such as GPS telemetry. With a large scale of devices worldwide, the sheer volume underscores the need for robust and scalable infrastructure.
Today's internet relies on outdated infrastructure that depends on certificates—small pieces of data granting devices access to certain services. Managing these certificates is administratively complex and increasingly insufficient for the demands of the machine economy. The future calls for a more automated, resilient, and secure solution.
Staex`s Solution
At Staex, we are building an on-chain certification authority to automate access management and security for the machine economy. Our full-stack solution spans from network and tunnel management for device manufacturers to comprehensive access and security management for entire networks. This ensures secure data sharing between devices and services while empowering humans with agency over machines in a safe, interconnected world.
Partnership with Generative Ventures
Generative Ventures`s experience in DePIN and protocol software aligns perfectly with our vision to support the transition to a machine-driven economy. Together, we aim to address the critical challenges of scalability and security while enabling devices to seamlessly and safely interact within the new paradigm of decentralized infrastructure.
Dr. Alexandra Mikityuk, CEO and Co-founder of Staex, shared:
“In such a complex world, there are no simple answers. At Staex, we are proud to provide a crucial piece of the puzzle to help the world transition towards a secure, resilient, and scalable machine economy. This partnership with Generative Ventures will accelerate our ability to deliver on that promise.”
Lex Sokolin, Partner at GV, stated:
“Staex is tackling one of the most significant challenges in the evolution of the internet. We are inspired by their vision for a scalable and resilient infrastructure for DePIN, and are excited to partner to shape the future of the machine economy.”
We`re excited to continue pushing the boundaries of what`s possible, ensuring that the future of decentralized networks is secure, scalable, and human-centered. Stay tuned as we embark on this transformative journey together!

Staex is a secure public network for IoT devices that can not run a VPN such as smart meters, IP cameras, and EV chargers. Staex encrypts legacy protocols, reduces mobile data usage, and simplifies building networks with complex topologies through its unique multi-hop architecture. Staex is fully zero-trust meaning that no traffic is allowed unless specified by the device owner which makes it more secure than even some private networks. With this, Staex creates an additional separation layer to provide more security for IoT devices on the Internet, also protecting other Internet services from DDoS attacks that are usually executed on millions of IoT machines.
